Retail/Consumer Finance Lawyer

A fintech with a phenomenal growth story is currently searching for an additional lawyer with some technical knowledge around consumer finance to perform a broad in-house counsel role. The small legal team have significant in-house and company experience to share and the established, global brand has a robust governance structure. Rapid expansion of the business following the launch of innovative and unique products gives this company, which is led by people who have grown successful businesses elsewhere, a real scale-up opportunity and they are looking for an additional lawyer to be part of this expansion. As well as consumer finance matters, you should expect to work on non-disclosure agreements, external financing, property leases HR issues, company secretarial matters and corporate governance. Technology and innovation will also form a key part of this role. The business willingly comes to legal for advice as they innovate and rapidly grow, based on the creation of products different to it’s competitors. 

We are looking for a qualified lawyer with experience of consumer credit, credit cards or payments. A broad financial services regulatory background would be useful - someone who understands the FCA handbook and general principals around the regulations. We would expect someone to have at least 3 years’ experience and be able to operate independently, whilst full training on corporate governance issues and how the company is run will be provided.
