Associate/Senior Associate - Education, 3+ PQE with Competitive salary + Benefits - Cambridge.
An opportunity for an experienced Solicitor or Barister to join a market leading team in Higher Education, who are at the forefront of developments in the law in this sector.
The Education team are involved in test cases, applying new legislation to the Education sector, developing new governance and collaborative arrangements.
The work is varied, interesting and intellectually stimulating where you will work alongside the Head of Education & Governance, and other members of the Regulatory, Public Law and Commercial Disputes reams across multiple offices.
You will gain valuable client exposure with a focus on advising clients in the Education sector, including universities, further education colleges, academies and other educational bodies on issues including safeguarding and immigration issues, equality and diversity issues, governance documents, policies and procedures, application of the freedom of information and data protection legislation, conducting litigation (including judicial review and civil claims).
You will be at least 3+years PQE (solicitor or barrister) with experience in conducting litigation. Experience of working in the education/public sector and a background in advsing onthe above areas would be an advantage but not essential, however appropriate relevant or similar experience will be helpful. Ideally you will also have some experience of Tier 4 of the immigration points based system, relating to students, marketing skills and advocacy.
You should have good drafting and IT skills and the ability to build and strengthen relationships with clients and potential clients. You will possess good research and negotiation skills and have excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills, including the ability to work with others, influence and persuade, together with drive and commitment.
