Junior Commercial Lawyer – In-House – Asset Management

A new and exciting prospect has arisen with an asset manager who are looking for a junior commercial lawyer to join their expanding legal team.

The City-based business is part of a larger, listed group providing lending, deposit taking and securities trading in addition to wealth management services. This role represents an ideal opportunity for a junior commercial lawyer to join a supportive yet dynamic in-house environment.

This position is responsible for providing high quality and commercially-minded legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders across the business in support of its day-to-day operations.

You would also be responsible for handling ad-hoc requests for advice from internal stakeholders across the business, advising on and negotiating supplier contracts and supporting the Senior Legal Counsel in reviewing and updating contractual documentation including client terms and conditions and other client forms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing independent, confidential and privileged legal advice to stakeholders across the business
• Reviewing and negotiating a range of agreements which the business enters into, including but not limited to commercial contracts and client agreements.
• Liaising with external counsel
• Supporting on the review and update of client terms and conditions, and other client contractual documentation
• General advisory support on BAU legal and regulatory matters, such as identifying and advising on private client issues
• Supporting the data protection team with legal issues relating to data protection
• Assisting with the production of legal guidance for internal use by the business

Ideally you will be between 0 – 2 PQE with experience of the financial services sector.
