Job Details
Our client is a large law firm in Sheffield and they are are looking to appoint an Employment Lawyer for an on-going locum assignment that is guaranteed for a minimum of 6 weeks but this may well be extended into 2022. Our client can offer up to 35 hours a week to the post holder and is happy with people working remotely.
Duties will include:
- Providing employment related legal advice and representation to the clients
- Conduct employment related litigation in the county court and magistrates court
- Advise councillors at Employment Appeals committees, on complex matters including: grievance, disciplinary, sickness and redundancy
- Conduct litigation in the Employment Tribunal and engage in all aspects of employment litigation from initiation to settlement
- Prepare bundles and draft a range of document including: questionnaires, witness statements, compromise agreements and costs applications
- Advise HR departments on compliance and practice during recruitment processes, restructures, redundancies, termination and contract changers
- Keep abreast of new employment law legislation, reviewing corporate polices to ensure they are up to date and relevant
- Advise on the impact of TUPE
- A qualified Barrister, Solicitor or FCILEx who holds a current practicing certificate
- Able to demonstrate a wide range of employment law experience, both contentious and non-contentious
- Experienced dealing with public sector clients ideally when working in house or in a Local Authority.
