Head of Legal

A leading global consumer goods company is seeking an experienced lawyer to head up their legal function.

Managing a small team, you will form an integral part of the company's operations and be responsible for a wide variety of commercial issues and transactions, varying greatly in nature, complexity and value.

Please note the offices are located in Surrey and there is an expectation that the majority of time will be spent at the office.

Reporting to the CFO, key responsibilities will include:

• Drafting, negotiating and advising on general commercial contracts including supply, procurement and distribution agreements;

• Antitrust including SDAs;

• Compliance and related administration (including delivering training and compliance updates);

• Data protection matters (including EU and UK GDPR, and e-privacy);

• Intellectual property;

• Marketing and advertising;

• Consumer law;

• Commercial disputes and litigation;

• Property matters;

• Regulatory matters.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Qualified solicitor, ideally with a minimum of 7 years PQE;

• Strong commercial contracts experience and general business acumen;

• This role will involve exposure to all members of the business and especially senior management, so a can-do attitude and strong people skills are critical.
