Job Details
Our client, a global law firm is looking for the support of a mid to high Associate level Lawyer for a 10-12 month contract to join the London Marine Assets and Projects team as well as their marine litigation team. The role will be to cover a maternity leave within the team and will be predominantly focused on ship sale and purchase of second hand tonnage, Vessel financing (primarily on the borrower side), shipbuildings contracts and marine related EPC contracts.
The firm works across all marine industry sectors, acting for large vessel owning companies, energy stakeholders and smaller boutique ship owning companies.
Candidates can expect to work and engaged with all types of marine assets, such as drilling rigs, FPSOs, FSRUs, superyachts and commercial tonnage.
Specific industry and market knowledge in, for example in relation to the Poseidon Principles and decarbonisation in the shipping industry would be of particular interest.
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales, or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia or New Zealand, for example)
- Possess upwards of 2 years' PQE
- Experience gained within a leading Law Firm
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Strong drafting skills
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team in a collaborative manner
