Job Details

New! - we are actively seeking an ambitious Corporate Associate (NQ+) to join a highly regarded Legal 100 law firm based in Oxford. This is a Chambers-rated top-tier corporate practice which offers excellent exposure to an impressive array of both regional, city and international clients. This opportunity may suit an ambitious individual who is looking to achieve a better work-life balance whilst still retaining a high quality workload. You can expect exposure to complex M&A; Private Equity and a diverse range of corporate matters from day one.

The ideal candidate will have trained with a recognised city, or regional, practice and be capable of demonstrating a consistently strong academic record. We are seeking an ambitious solicitor (min. 12 months experience) who will particularly enjoy business development/marketing and actively seeks a consistent level of client contact. You will be organised in your approach to managing conflicting deadlines and be able to work within a collegiate team environment.

The team are frequently instructed on the following matters:

  • Private M&A (both buy side and sell side)
  • Private equity (principally management advisory and portfolio work)
  • High growth companies / shareholders agreements and articles / equity fundraising
  • Corporate rationalisations / reorganisations
  • General corporate advisory
  • Partnership law
  • Inward investment  and cross border

This is an exciting new opportunity for a career minded solicitor to join an expanding corporate department. The successful candidate might have some experience in areas including:

- Private Equity, Purchase and sale of businesses, Mergers & Acquisitions, Joint Venture agreements, Shareholder Agreements, Terms of Business etc.

This person is required on a permanent basis working as part of an experienced team undertaking M&A, and general corporate advice work, ensuring that individual financial targets and objectives are met in line with the Department business plan.

The ideal individual should have drive and an enthusiasm for a broad diet of corporate work but experience in all of the above areas is not required and all team members have areas of greater specialisation with the opportunity to become a “go-to” lawyer in areas or industry sectors of particular interest.

An appetite to develop into a rounded and commercially focussed business adviser is a must. Successful candidates are also likely to be strong team players with good inter-personal skills, have strong academics and some relevant experience.

You might have started your career with a major City or a leading national/regional practice or be ready for a step-up in terms of your exposure to more varied and challenging work in a supportive environment which is focused on bringing out the best in you. First-class support and learning and development opportunities are provided and early responsibility is offered for those ready and able to take it on.

An excellent knowledge of transactional processes is required and this opportunity requires excellent IT/keyboard skills, planning and organisational skills as well as a flexible and positive attitude to your work. You will be joining an established team therefore the ability to work as part of a team is equally important.

This opportunity offers excellent long-term career development potential and the successful candidate will enjoy a friendly, supportive and collegiate team environment and generous financial package plus benefits.
