In-House Construction Lawyer - London (Iconic Development)

An amazing opportunity for an In-House Construction Lawyer to join the legal team of an Iconic London Development to advise the wider legal team and project management teams on construction and infrastructure-related matters. 

You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating building contracts, trade contracts, consultant appointments, warranties/third party rights and other construction documentation. You will advise on the construction aspects of development and finance agreements, including security documentation, such as bonds and guarantees; agreements for lease; sale and purchase agreements; development agreements and ancillary agreements. A key area of this role requires your advice on construction procurement, including Two Stage JCT Design & Build and Construction Management. Part of this role will have a contentious aspect where you will focus on preparing and engaging on dispute resolution processes. There is a real commercial (non-legal) feel to this role where you will support the project management team on the wide variety of construction-related issues and documents arising as part of real estate development including dealing with ad-hoc construction-related legal queries and acting as the primary interface between external lawyers and internal project managers.  You will also instruct and oversee external legal counsel.

Candidates must be qualified to practice in England and Wales with a minimum of 3yrs PQE gained in relevant construction and infrastructure project work gained from a leading City Practice. Ideally, you will have experience in mixed-use real estate development work. You must have a strong track record of advising on construction contracts, as well as expertise and experience in all types of construction procurement, including Two Stage JCT Design & Build and Construction Management. Applicants with previous In House experience or secondment would be highly advantageous.
