Senior M&A Lawyer, Group Legal

The head office of a major financial services institution is currently looking to hire a senior level lawyer to join an active Head Office M&A team in Paris. In addition to working on acquisitions in the emerging markets, and sales in the more mature markets, as part of the central international team you will be assisting with special projects and implementing regulatory change. Executing the ambitious strategic plan is the core purpose of this team and you will be interacting with inspirational people on a daily basis from the senior management to the corporate finance team, around the globe. You will be expected to run and negotiate deals with little assistance. Technical excellence as well as confidence will need to be demonstrated.

Large scale international M&A experience, in particular within the emerging markets as well as sophisticated UK and US deals, is key to this role. The team speak and work in English and although there will be some French law involved this will be dealt with by a separate team and the French language is therefore not required. Insurance or regulatory experience would be beneficial but not essential and you should be prepared to travel, sometimes without much notice. You should have the enthusiasm and drive to take on more and embark in an ambitious career.
