Agricultural & Estates Property lawyer NQ – 3 years’ PQE READING

Commercial law firm in Reading with a strong reputation for the work it does in property law is looking to recruit an Agricultural & Estates Property lawyer of NQ to 3 years’ PQE. The team is growing and they are looking for someone with a real passion for rural land and those who own and occupy it. Someone who understands the deep personal associations and traditions involved, as well as the legal and commercial aspects of rural property ownership and use. In this role, you will work closely with the senior members of the team who have been steadily building the practice and establishing strong relationships with a wide variety of landowners and occupiers, from tenant farmers to landed estates. With them, you’ll advise and assist on a wide range of matters connected with rural land including: • sales and acquisitions of rural property, varying from small plots of land to large farms and estates • drafting overage provisions, dealing with rural related tenancy issues including succession rights and surrenders • granting wayleaves and easements • and, advising on potential property development including a variety of renewable energy projects. 

You may, from time to time, also get involved in wider commercial property work supporting the rest of the firm’s highly regarded property teams. As with all the firms’ lawyers, you’ll be encouraged to get involved in business development and other activities as part of growing the practice and your own skills and reputation and there are excellent prospects for career development / advancement in this role. Candidates will ideally have some experience of Agricultural Property law, but our client will consider candidates with Commercial Property experience who can demonstrate a genuine interest in Agricultural Property matters. Newly-qualified candidates will have undertaken a seat in either Agricultural Property and/or Commercial Property law.
