This is much more than your traditional fee earning role, but the opportunity to work alongside a renowned and award winning Legal500 team on business strategy and implementation, to further develop the firms regional offering!

They are now in growth mode and looking to make key strategic hires into their already successful and friendly teams - all of which are headed by Chambers and Legal500 recommended Lawyers.

This position is well suited to someone with fresh ideas, they offer an environment where you will be listened to and supported, giving you all the tools needed to implement these strategies. You will be well backed financially, and provided with all the resources needed to increase your personal presence and that of the wider teams throughout the region.

The Firm

This leading national practice have experienced quality driven growth over recent years; both organically and through targeted acquisitions to expand their presence. These strategic decisions have been very successful; where now they have a network of offices housing Legal500 ranked departments and individuals.

Moving forwards the firm are looking to consolidate across their key practice areas with the appointment of a commercially minded individual, who will be key in working alongside the partnership team allowing them to compete with the larger national and international firms.

The firm's roots are regional so you will find a friendly culture within their offices, however within the teams you will find some of the country's finest Lawyers who regularly win "big ticket" work and service a high-profile client base from HNWI & UHNWI in their Private Wealth & Family teams, to Household names and International Corporations in their Commercial teams.

The network of offices are well linked, making for a sociable role - all offices have been performing to such a high standard, that the firm is in financially a very strong position and able to focus on this next phase of growth.

The Role

The firm are seeking a commercially minded Employment Lawyer to join this leading Legal500 ranked team in their Cambridge office.

Due to the nature of this role, there is flexibility on offer; meaning they are able to shape the role around your preference and your strengths. Whether you would like to be in a fee earning focused role, or reduce the amount of time fee earning to look at team strategy, management and development as a senior member within the firm.

You will have access to all the latest tech and systems allowing you to focus on the more enjoyable and profitable aspects of the role; the team is brimming with talented Solicitors ready to assist, and you will also be provided with a dedicated support team.

The department covers all areas of contentious and non-contentious Employment including:

  • Employment Disputes and Tribunals
  • Settlements Contracts and Handbooks
  • Restrictive Covenants
  • Business Restructuring
  • Discrimination
  • Unfair Dismissal and Disciplinaries
  • TUPE

If you are an experienced Lawyer seeking the opportunity to work on an existing and varied portfolio meanwhile building your own client base - this firm will work with you closely to facilitate this offering full support to ensure your future within the firm. If you have your own contacts to bring - this firm with ensure a smooth transition and full support for you to service them.

The role comes with flexible/ agile working; they trust each individual to perform, and will provide systems ensuring you can communicate effectively with your team and the firm as a whole.

Requirements

  • You will be an Employment Lawyer or Partner with 5 PQE +
  • (There is no upper limit in PQE)
  • Experience of managing and mentoring more junior colleagues is advantageous
  • You should have first-class communication, outstanding business development skills and an entrepreneurial flair
