Legal Counsel - Regulatory
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading global Fintech company as their next Regulatory Legal Counsel, where you will be advising the business as they rapidly grow within the e-commerce market.
The successful candidate will:
* Advise on regulatory matters including compliance with the GDPR, European payments regulations and their equivalents
* Collaborate with all core functions within the company
* Help improve existing processes and support the business in launching new products
* Advise on novel and complex issues and provide clear advice on regulatory issues
* Monitor new legal and regulatory developments and consider their impact on the business
* Work closely with others in the business to create and maintain a strategic relationship with the FCA, FOS, ASA and other key regulatory stakeholders in the UK/European market
* You will carry out research on various multijurisdictional regulatory issues
* You will help the business continue to expand internationally; researching and evaluating new territories and providing creative, proactive and results orientated advice
Requirements:
* Qualified lawyer (junior to mid-level), gained by training in private practice or in-house - all applications will be considered on merit
* Experience on regulatory matters
* Previous regulatory experience in fintech, payments, software, e-commerce and/or bank experience is desirable but not essential
* Experience working in a start-up or other fast-paced and dynamic environment is desirable but not essential
* Experience working internationally and on a variety of cross-border matters is desirable but not essential
* Additional language skills is desirable but not essential
* Dual qualification in an overseas jurisdiction is desirable but not essential
Candidates will need:
* Excellent time management skills and experience managing a diverse workload and challenging stakeholder demands
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as needed, flexing the approach as the matter requires
* Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate and explain complex legal and regulatory issues clearly and concisely
* Enthusiasm for new challenges and skilling up in different areas of law and regulations
