Corporate Associate - 1 PQE+, Oxford

New! - we are actively seeking an ambitious Corporate Associate (1 PQE+) to join a highly regarded Legal 100 law firm based in Oxford. The role will involve assisting and advising on all aspects of company law, private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and MBOs and MBIs, joint ventures and investor/shareholders’ agreements, articles of association and other constitutional documents, demergers, company reconstructions and reorganisations. 

Additionally, there is the opportunity to be involved with AIM flotations, takeovers and other public company work, commercial lending and security, financing and refinancing of businesses.

The ideal candidate will have trained with a recognised city, or regional, practice and be capable of demonstrating a consistently strong academic record. We are seeking an ambitious solicitor (min. 12 months experience) who will particularly enjoy business development/marketing and actively seeks a consistent level of client contact. You will be organised in your approach to managing conflicting deadlines and be able to work within a collegiate team environment.

The firms private equity and venture practice is growing fast. We are looking to help the partners grow the team with the addition of a solicitor (or equivalent) to join this well respected practice which regularly acts for investors, management teams and companies raising equity investment across a broad range of sectors.  The corporate team acts for acquirers, private equity and VCT funds, founders/sellers, management teams and funders.  Historically, the team has been involved in a number of prominent deals in the Thames Valley region. 

The role would suit a candidate relocating to the region, an ambitious practitioner looking to move laterally from a national/large regional firm or an able candidate looking to work for a larger firm doing larger transactions.

The Corporate & Commercial team advise across all sectors on a variety of  corporate transactions and corporate matters that are non-transactional in nature. They advise UK and international clients from fast-growing start-ups/scale-ups to listed companies. Many of the team have come from large city firms and while the quality of work is comparable the culture and ethos within the team is friendly and collegiate.

This is an exciting new opportunity for a career minded solicitor to join an expanding corporate department. The successful candidate might have some experience in areas including:

• Private Equity, Purchase and Sale of businesses, Mergers, Acquisitions, Joint Venture agreements, Shareholder Agreements, Terms of Business etc.

This person is required on a permanent basis working as part of an experienced team undertaking M&A, and general corporate advice work, ensuring that individual financial targets and objectives are met in line with the Department business plan.

An excellent knowledge of transactional processes is required and this opportunity requires excellent IT/keyboard skills, planning and organisational skills as well as a flexible and positive attitude to your work. You will be joining an established team therefore the ability to work as part of a team is equally important.
