SALES & MARKETING LAWYER

DIGITAL MEDIA

6 MONTH FTC

NOVEMBER 2021 START

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales and Marketing lawyer with experience in the media industry to join a Global Digital Media Organisation on an initial 6 month FTC to start in November 2021.

The media landscape that our client operates in is changing and this is taking place against a backdrop of rapid change in the regulatory context for digital advertising, marketing, copyright and data laws.

The role will have a particular focus on:

1.IP and Content Integrity

2.Revenue and Consumer

3.Data

4.Corporate and Technology.

This is a 6 month FTC maternity cover where you will be asked to support the delivery of legal advice and support to sales, revenue and consumer leaders, as part of the global Consumer and Revenue team.

More specifically, the purpose of your role is to work with:

(a) Revenue and Licensing Teams to deliver their deals, resolve issues arising from these and build long term client relationships

(b) Consumer Teams, to ensure that consumer propositions are conducted in a commercially effective and legally compliant manner.

Specific Tasks will include:

Revenue and Licensing Teams

1.Support these teams on legal issues relating to the sale of our clients products and services, with a particular focus on new and emerging business models

2.Ensure they understand core legal and IP concepts that are relevant to their strategy and commercial decision making process

3.Support the negotiation of new deals with clients and advertising agencies

4.Work with relevant legal and business colleagues to develop standard policies, processes and documents for revenue generating activities

5.Help broker compromises and solutions for legal and regulatory issues arising from cross border transactions or service delivery

6.Work closely with in-house trade mark attorney on IP licensing transactions

Consumer Teams

1.Ensure the marketing teams have access to first class advice on the evolving digital marketing law framework in the UK, US, Europe and beyond

2.Implement legal solutions around emerging commercial trends such as social media influencers and adtech and the regulatory response to them

3.Provide templates, tools and information on marketing and advertising law

4.Draft clear and consistent templates and standard terms and conditions for new promotional initiatives

5.Work closely with Data Privacy lawyers on issues relating to data use

General

1.Support the development of a best practice approach to Sales and Marketing law so as to ensure efficient and cost effective legal service delivery

2.Lead the development of best practice to Sales and Marketing law issues

3.Manage outside counsel

4.Keep abreast of the latest legal and commercial trends in advertising, commercial and consumer law

5.Support the General Counsel with management reporting and interactions with our clients shareholder on sales and marketing law matters

Skills and Experience

·Specialism in sales and marketing law gained either in private practice or in an in-house role, including a thorough knowledge of applicable marketing codes and best practice

·Specialism in UK, EU or US sales and commercial law, including an awareness of emerging trends, regulation and best practice in offline and online advertising, social media and influencers

·Ability to present legal advice in a pragmatic, problem solving and commercial fashion

·Positive "can do" attitude and willingness to work flexibly and as part of a new and evolving team that is itself operating in a business and sector going through change
