MEDIA LAWYER, DISTRIBUTION & CHANNELS

ENTERTAINMENT CLIENT

PART-TIME OR FULL TIME

12 MONTH FTC

Our client is the international entertainment channels group of a major media brand. Its EMEA head office is based in central London and it is responsible for a range of TV channels distributed throughout Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the legal team on a 12-month FTC. Reporting to the Vice President, LBA, you will provide commercial and legal services in relation to all of the channels business.

Your key role will involve:

* Day to day negotiation and drafting of channel carriage agreements and related channels contracting work

* Negotiation and drafting of advertising, sponsorship and client partnership agreements

* General legal and business affairs advice on range of matters relating to channel distribution in multiple jurisdictions with a primary focus on EMEA

* Lead contact with commercial teams in London, Paris, Madrid and Singapore

* Working as directed or supervised by, and attending regular catch-up meetings with, the VP of Business and Legal Affairs and keeping them fully apprised of current work, updates and priorities and deputising for them on occasion

* Identifying and responding promptly to allocated clients' legal and business affairs needs

Media experience from a broadcaster or broadcast service provider is sought after. You will also need to demonstrate the following background and experience:

* Experience of channel carriage, content distribution and/or ad sales

* Management and leadership experience within a diverse team

* Ability to cope with high volume workload under time pressure and to work independently and to a high professional standard

* Excellent drafting skills, accuracy and attention to detail

* Flexibility and good interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach and an ability to lead processes as well as work as part of a team across business areas.
