Legal Counsel (1-3 PQE) - IT Multinational - relocation to Madrid, Spain

I am working with the Legal Director at a large global technology company and a British former Magic Circle lawyer. Based in Madrid as part of a multicultural in-house legal team, they are looking to hire a recently qualified (around NQ / 1-3 PQE) transactional associate from an international law firm.

You can have any transactional background - tech sector specific training will be provided. It is a broad commercial role with a lot of support and development from the manager, often handling complex high value transactions. 

THE ROLE
You will join the business in a broad commercial role working closely with the business units and supporting them with the following activities:

• Providing legal support and advice to the business, including new and strategic business
• Drafting and negotiation of complex, high value technology contracts and agreements with multinational EMEA corporate customers, strategic partners and providers of IT solutions. 
• Structuring transactions and analysis of relevant regulatory environment, including anti-trust and data protection
• Provide support and advice to the business with responses to RFPs for corporate customers 
• Developing, implementing, training and overseeing legal policies and procedures for the business.
• Support the digital transformation processes for the legal department
• Support the IT and operations teams in formulation and implementing of the solutions portfolio and go-to-market strategy
• Liaising with external counsel and procuring input and advice.

REQUIREMENTS 

• A commercial or corporate lawyer trained at a top international law firm
• Preferably UK qualified; US, Ireland, Canada, Australia, EU qualified candidates will also be considered
• The role will suit someone around 1-3 PQE 
• Native or fluent English
