Our client is currently looking for a Compliance Projects Manager. In this position you will be creating, monitoring and maintaining the program related to the regulatory and compliance framework for a top 10 accountancy / professional services organisation. The successful candidate will need to have proven experience in project management of compliance and regulatory projects ideally in the financial services industry.

The position has arisen due do the proposed introduction of the International Standard on Quality Management 1 (ISQM 1). ISQM 1 requires firms to design, implement and operate an improved system of quality management to support consistently high audit quality.

The first stage of this transformation is to identify the quality risks that are present currently. You will work with the Project Director and establish the detailed controls that are in place and create a full documentation trail and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of the control.

Stage two of the project will involve implementation of a monitoring process. This will include you undertaking testing as part of the role. 

This is an interesting project and would particularly suit someone with an interest in understanding how quality is maintained across audit and assurance services.

Key elements of the role:

  • Design of controls through review of existing documentation
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive Risk and Control Matrices
  • Identification of gaps in the current control structure and suggestions for remediation
  • Evaluating design and implementation of controls
  • Periodic testing of controls
  • Contributing to the development of an ongoing compliance function for ISQM1
  • Liaison with key stakeholders to gain buy in to the System of Quality Management
