Assistant Company Secretary, Governance

The small governance team within a larger company secretarial department in a reputable bank is looking for an additional experienced professional to join the team.  Working in a largely advisory capacity, this role has huge regulatory aspects as you advise the board in relation to PRA, EBA and FRC regulatory requirements. You will work on the governance framework and look after the nomination committee, although this is not a minute taking position. You will look at the efficiency of the board and its skills as well as succession planning.

Whilst this is a more specialist and technical role than most, those with broader company secretarial experience will be considered. The position would suit someone with experience dealing with regulatory projects and in particular SMCR and section 166 reviews. We are looking for someone with at least 5 years’ experience who can stand on their own feet, someone who understands the regulations and can work with the stakeholders to interpret them. You will need some financial services exposure but this role could suit someone coming from an advisory firm.
