Your new company
This company is independent financial regulatory body in the UK and Ireland. They promote integrity and transparency within businesses. They are now looking for a lawyer to join the central London office within their General Counsel Team (GCT).
Your new role
The main purpose of this role is to support the General Counsel and the Director of Legal Services to ensure the following accountabilities are met:
- To deliver high quality, timely and customer-orientated legal advice to internal clients under the supervision of the senior lawyers and the Director of Legal Services
- To be an effective member of GCT, supporting in the delivery of GCT's strategic and policy objectives.
- To identify, escalate and mitigate legal risk issues as appropriate.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to identify and implement ways to best deliver strategic and policy objectives.
- To effectively manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a solicitor or barrister with demonstrable experience in regulatory and/or public law (typically 2-5 years PQE, although more or less will be required). You will also have demonstrable experience of communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a clear, concise and comprehensible manner. You will have excellent legal and analytical skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Finally it is desirable that you have experience with instructing and managing external counsel, but not essential.
