In-House Employment Lawyer - London - 7+PQE

Our client, a FTSE 100 located in Central London, is recruiting for an In-House Employment Lawyer to join the in-house legal team. This is an opportunity to work on a range of employment matters, alongside Legal, HR and other teams across the business, and when required working with external counsel. Your work will be in the UK and other jurisdictions.

Your experience will bring a strong level of autonomy, responsibility and confidence in your function to advise the business. You will be comfortable working with senior members of the non-executive and executive teams. As this is a new recruit for the legal team, it is also important that you enjoy being involved in creating policies and procedures as well as being involved in internal training and educational seminars.

Your background will be working in a boutique specialist employment law firm, reputable mid or top tier law firm or a combination of working in a law firm and in-house. Your portfolio of clients will include large corporates, international and publicly listed companies advising on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.

Supporting the Legal and HR teams, your work will include dismissals, grievances, investigations, whistleblowing, litigation and other general matters as well as at times, supporting the company with post corporate activity employment advice as required.

You will:

• Be approximately 7+ years post qualified in England and Wales, or another commonwealth law jurisdiction with requisite UK experience.
• Collaborate and provide day to day support to the Group Legal and HR teams as well as non-executives and executive business members.
• Advise on all employee relations such as recruiting and hiring and drafting of employment contracts, consultancy, settlement and secondment agreements.
• Have experience of discipline and performance management.
• Have experience of dealing with benefits, compensation and other issues.
• Have dealt with matters such as discrimination, harassment, termination, redundancies, leaves of absence, health and medical.
• Have developed, drafted, and implemented company policies, agreements, standards, and business procedures designed to foster compliance with applicable employment laws and standards.
• Driven efficiencies and achieved process improvements through collaboration with other functions across the business.
• Have monitored external legal spend.
