Junior Legal Counsel

The DITH Group is a global leader in the trading and distribution of steel and raw materials used in the making of steel. The Group’s operational headquarters are in Lugano, Switzerland but we are a truly international business with approximately 50 offices in almost 30 countries.

To service this global business, we have a small but senior legal team based in Lugano. The award-winning team is very cohesive and extremely experienced, and we are now looking to add to it by the recruitment of a first Junior Legal Counsel.

The role will involve exposure to a wide variety of work handled by this busy legal team including drafting and advising on trading contracts, handling disputes and proceedings, preparing and negotiating standard corporate agreements, advising on bi-lateral and structured finance arrangements and a high level of involvement in the Group’s M&A and JV projects.

We are looking for a lawyer with up to two-year’s relevant experience in-house or in a respected law firm. The successful candidate will be qualified in a common law or mixed common/civil law jurisdiction with very good academic qualifications. English mother tongue is required and proficiency in one other European language, preferably Italian, would be a strong plus.

A real interest in commodity trading and desire to learn is a must as is a very high level of communication skills. We are looking for someone to fit into a team environment but also to be a self starter with a very strong work ethic and an ability to thrive in the high-paced and at times high pressure business environment of a trading company. We expect the highest level of integrity, ethics and business judgement to match the compliance-based culture of our organisation.
