Technology & Commercial Lawyer. 6-9 month FTC. 5+ PQE. London

A Top 20 Firm is looking to secure an experienced Technology and Commercial Lawyer for a contract of 6-9 months in duration. The contract is to start imminently and is to cover a period of leave within the team.

The commercial and technology transactions team is a global, market leading practice group. They advise on strategic technology, outsourcing and commercial transactions, which are often cross-border in nature. The team has an impressive rostra of clients to include household names such as NIKE, Estee Lauder, Tesco and Royal Mail, as well as those within the financial and payments services sectors.

The role will involve drafting, negotiating, and managing:

• Complex and/or strategic commercial contracts - which are often cross-border
• An array of IT, business process, property management and business services outsourcing agreements
• A wide range of technology transactions including SaaS arrangements; IaaS and other cloud and platform as a service arrangements; artificial intelligence licensing, development and support arrangements; Internet and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) licensing, systems integration and support arrangements; software licence, development and support arrangements

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

• Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales, or another commonwealth jurisdiction
• Upwards of 5 years PQE gained within another City, International or Top Tier Regional firm
• Specific prior experience with technology and data transactions (including drafting and negotiating agreements, as well as advising clients in these areas)
• Exposure to complex outsourcing transactions
• Experience in advising blue chip clients
• Financial and/or payments services sector experience
• Strong attention to detail

Due to the imminent start date for this contract, candidates should ideally be available immediately or at short notice.

Please note, this firm intend on facilitating a split between office-based working and home working for the foreseeable future.
