Legal Counsel, multinational West Midlands

Arbuthnot Yon are working exclusively with a global listed business which has interests across a variety of sectors including leisure, hospitality, retail and property.  An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Counsel to join the legal team and undertake a varied commercially focused role that will see you working with all areas of the business including finance, procurement, marketing, sales and operational business teams both in the UK and Internationally.

Reporting into the General Counsel, you will be responsible for the provision of general commercial legal, regulatory compliance and risk management advice to the Group. Although commercially focused you will be able to get involved in a wide range of legal areas including general commercial law, commercial contracts, information technology, intellectual property, data protection, regulatory issues and disputes. 

This role is a great first time in-house move to join a blue-chip business to join an experienced global legal team alternatively if you are currently working in-house and would like a change then do get in touch. The office culture is friendly and relaxed and you will have lots of interaction with the wider business both in the UK and internationally. 

This position would be suited to a lawyer with approximately 3 – 6 years’ from a commercial, corporate, litigation or property background who is keen to move into a business and have a commercially focused role where you will build and maintain strong relationships between Legal and commercial colleagues across the organisation, including the commercial teams and senior stakeholders.

This position is based in the West Midlands and commutable from Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, Northampton, Coventry and Warwick areas. The business has adopted a hybrid working model therefore you will be able to spilt your time between the office and home.
