Funds Associates (c5-6yrs PQE) - Hong Kong & Singapore

Pre-eminent offshore law firm actively seeks ambitious funds lawyers for its expanding practice in both Hong Kong and Singapore, where they act for a wide variety of sponsors across the region, advising on the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands aspects of over 500 funds (including many for the best-known private and state-sponsored Chinese promoters of offshore funds).

Academically strong and with experience developed with a rated onshore/offshore firm, applicants will ideally be admitted to practice in a recognised Commonwealth jurisdiction (England & Wales / Australia / New Zealand) and have c5-6yrs PQE. Comfortable running transactions independently with light partner supervision, it is envisaged that you will be dealing directly with clients and onshore counsel when required, building relationships and taking an active position with regards business development. Those candidates with regional language abilities (preferably Chinese) would be of particular interest, but this is not essential. The work on offer is extremely diverse and interesting, including the formation, structuring and restructuring of all types of open and closed end funds, such as hedge funds, private equity and venture capital, real estate and infrastructure funds. There will also be opportunity to get involved in general corporate & finance transactions and develop expertise on the regulatory side of the practice.
