Your new company
A well-known British animal welfare charity which cares for over 15,000 animals each year, protecting them from maltreatment, cruelty, and suffering. The charity has 20 centres across the UK that focus on the rehabilitation and rehoming of animals which have been either abandoned or given up by their owners for rehoming. This is an extremely busy, fast-paced charity and a great place to work if you love animals.
Your new role
The legal team are hiring for a Solicitor to provide a broad range of advice to the charity on contract matters relating to fundraising, international grant agreements, veterinary and research collaborations, procurement of goods and services, terms & conditions and more. Legal administration is also managed within the Legal team. You may also be asked to provide ad hoc advice to staff at the charity's Head Office and its rehoming centres. This is a full-time role and will be homeworking until September 2021. Thereafter, you will be required to go into the London office.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified solicitor with several years in-house experience, preferably within the charity sector. You will be able to demonstrate contract drafting skills and will have previous experience of providing advice direct to clients or non-legal colleagues. You will have good commercial judgement, a pragmatic and risk-based approach to legal advice. Most importantly you will share the same values/visions as the charity: to ensure animals enjoy a happy life! What you'll get in return
In return you will be paid between £60,000-65,000 (depending on experience level). You will also receive a generous benefits package.
