Who are we?

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world's largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.

What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.

Our new dedicated  bespoke Online Campus, ULaw Online, continues to see rapid growth and success in our online study mode.We understand that today’s students and tomorrow’s professionals want a choice in how, where and when they learn – ULaw Online provides that.

We already have an experienced and committed core of people working in this digital campus – do you want to become part of this dedicated team and help build our new world of learning?

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with management experience to use their skills to manage all aspects of the delivery of the student experience and the enhancement of student performance on specific ULaw Online programmes. You will be able to work with the management team to ensure continuous improvement in student achievement, retention, performance and progression.

We are looking for an individual who are passionate about education, who believes that the student experience should be second to none and is excited about using technology to do that. You do not need teaching experience – we will provide all the training you need – but you must be invested in delivering the highest standard of legal education, using existing and emerging technology.

You will be a qualified lawyer with proven successful practice and management experience, supported by a desire to help our students achieve that same career. We are looking for people who will tutor but, in addition, are interested in programme development.

ULaw Online campus staff will be home-based, but required to attend any of our campuses for meetings and training as required.

Package

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including 35 days annual leave, private medical insurance and life assurance.  As part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you to study for a recognised teaching qualification within your first 18 months of employment.

If you would like to arrange an informal discussion prior to application, please email Carol.Draycott@law.ac.uk or Alyson.Jones@law.ac.uk  and include ‘ULaw Online’ in the heading.

No agencies please.

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University – which does not reflect our diverse student body - we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.

Company

The University of Law as the UK’s largest law school has trained more lawyers than anyone else.
