Senior Legal Counsel

Globally recognisable name with well respected in-house legal department requires a commercial lawyer with procurement exposure for new role as a result of internal mobility.

You're likely to have at least 3 years PQE and experience of working for or in the UK public sector environment, either within a law firm or in-house and be a commercially focused but legally sound lawyer with exceptional interpersonal and intercultural skills.

Knowledge of EU public procurement laws and any understanding of structure and operation of UK National Health Service would be extremely welcome, but in the main you will possess a confidence in ability to stand by advice provided.

Working within a small and integral legal department you'll report directly to the Head of Legal and help provide a comprehensive 'one stop shop' of legal services to the procurement team within the Group's Supply Chain business unit through a direct interface with the business. You'll also ensure that the procurement part of the business establish and manage their tenders and manage their contracts : (i) in compliance with EU public procurement regulations and competition law, and (ii) in accordance with the business' legal obligations under its contract with their client.
