Your new company
A central London authority and governing body are looking for an experienced Commercial Property Lawyer.

Your new role
You will as a senior member of a section in the Property Division and to undertake work relating to property law and practice affecting land held by the Corporation in any capacity. You will undertake work allocated by the Chief Lawyer and/or the Assistant City Solicitor relating to all areas of commercial property law and practice, including purchases, sales, building agreements, ground leases, equity sharing leases, geared ground rent leases, option and pre-emption agreements, development agreements, rack rent leases, rent reviews, turnover rents, lease re-structuring, tenancy agreements, easements, licences, highway and infrastructure documentation. Additionally, you may be required to assist with public and private sector residential property work, secured lending documentation, charity and trust law, ecclesiastical property law and consequential work.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you should have no less than 5 years experience in general commercial property work and should be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive. You should have demonstrable experience of Landlord and Tenant law (including both rack rent and geared ground rent leases), Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals and Title investigation (including unregistered land). Experience of working in Local Government is desirable as is experience of Charities Law. Finally you will have excellent drafting skills and experience of advising (verbal and written) Members, Committees, Chief Officers of Client Departments and Social Housing providers.
