GENERAL COUNSEL / HEAD OF LEGAL - EARLY STAGE VENTURE FUND

Exciting opportunity to become the first General Counsel / Head of Legal of a leading established European – based VC fund with $1 billion under management.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting the investment team on the legal aspects of investment transactions, follow – ons and exits, with a natural ability to see the larger commercial picture, manage external advisors, and become a trusted advisor to investment partners in commercial discussions. 

You will need to be a UK qualified solicitor with at least four to six years post qualification experience working in a top tier law firm specialising in / focused on venture capital transactions who has either has remained in private practice or moved in house to a VC fund.   Strong commercial awareness allied with up to date legal knowledge is essential as is the ability to build high quality relationships with all stakeholders.   It is also imperative that you are a self starter, a team player who is highly pragmatic, has a positive, can do attitude (with a sense of humour!) and a forward thinking mindset.
