A highly successful independent TV production organisation is currently seeking a Media Lawyer to join the busy Legal Business Affairs team.

THE ROLE

Working across the legal and business affairs operations of the business to provide a first class legal and BA service to internal stakeholders and productions. You will work alongside the Head of Legal Business Affairs with the support of a Paralegal and will assume responsibility for:

* Negotiating and securing successful deals across all production areas in line with creative and commercial objectives

* Advising on and negotiating talent deals and clearances

* Advising on potential development issues such as rights and copyright issues

* Supporting on the negotiation of broadcaster production finance deals and any co-financing arrangements

* Negotiating distribution arrangements

* Advising on music licenses

* Liaising with the wider group legal and finance teams where necessary

* Supporting and overseeing the work of the department Paralegal as required

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

* A qualified lawyer with substantial experience n scripted media law, ideally drama

* Media and TV production experience either in-house or in private practice

* Proven experience of TV guild agreements and SVOD platforms

* Experience of film or television financing

* A solid understanding of the evolving digital and television legal frameworks

* Excellent knowledge of intellectual property law particularly copyright and trademarks

* Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills
