Experienced Payroll & Compliance Officer, Birmingham, £Excellent, plus comprehensive benefits. Executive Network Legal, a leading boutique recruitment business, has a great opportunity for a Payroll & Compliance Officer to join their dedicated legal team in the Birmingham office.

Experience:
We are seeking applications for talented individuals with specific experience within payroll and compliance, preferably gained within an employment agency setting. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the legislation relating to this sector, for example IR35 and the Agency Workers Regulations and will be well versed in the employment checks required for temporary workers. You will display an understanding of and commitment to, customer needs and concerns with a willingness to focus effort and invest time in providing solutions and assuming complete responsibility for the role. To support the team through positive relationship building, sharing of all relevant and useful information, willing assistance and interaction and working as a contributor to the whole business. The critical activities of the role are:

Payroll:
Ensure payroll runs effectively
Chasing outstanding timesheets and client authorisations
Coordinating payroll queries with Head Office payroll department
Generating invoices for fixed term and permanent appointments
Maintaining locum financial spreadsheet
Remaining informed about legislative changes applicable to temporary workers

Compliance:
Take responsibility for compliance activities including obtaining and recording eligibility to work, checking ID and qualifications
Updating candidate and client information
Obtaining candidate references
Scanning and attaching all relevant documentation to system
Recording IR35 information such as SDS forms from clients
Issuing, recording and renewing Information Request forms and Health and Safety forms to our clients
Sending registration documents, TOE’s and TOB’s
Placement confirmations
Uploading candidate information to client and third-party portals as required by the team

Kaye Thumpston – Divisional Manager (Locum)

Kaye is a Divisional Manager within eNL’s  interim / locum division and has responsibility for the temporary legal recruitment team nationally. Kaye has been involved in legal recruitment since 2006 and has over ten years’ experience within the interim / locum legal professional market. Educated to postgraduate level, including a first class honours degree and a distinction in her postgraduate legal qualification, Kaye has a thorough understanding of what clients require and has built up a strong network of contacts throughout the UK. Her practical and honest advice has resulted in a successful commercial reputation respected by both candidates and clients.

Felicity Simpson – Consultant (Locum)

Following 4 years within the hospitality and sales sector, Felicity joined eNL in November 2016, after identifying legal  recruitment as an industry that interested her and  where she felt she could develop as an individual. Felicity is determined to become an expert in both recruitment and the legal industry, in order to provide her clients and candidates with strong market information and guidance. As a  member of  eNLs London & South East Locum Team she recruits for fixed term contract positions, holiday cover and interim roles across the region. She is an excellent communicator, with an enviable work ethic, enhanced by a genuine down to earth approach and an infectious sense of humour.

Zoe Jones – Consultant (Locum)

With over 20 years’ experience working in the recruitment industry, Zoë’s experience includes in-house recruitment for a large financial institution within commercial and corporate banking,  as well as local government. With 3 years’ previous legal recruitment experience gained at eNL, Zoë re-joined the team in December 2018 after a short break. With a passion for providing exceptional customer service and a dedication to delivering effective recruitment solutions, Zoë’s aim is to add value to both her clients and candidate’s legal recruitment needs.
