Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel in the Online Automotive Technology sector

London or Flexible Remote Agile Working

Part Time Considered

Superb new instruction for a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel to join one of the fastest growing companies in Europe.

We are exclusively instructed by a leader in the online automotive marketplace which is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic lawyer to join the brilliant team.

The HO is in London but you can be based anywhere in the UK, with travel to the office just once a week or so (likely to be twice a week initially while you get up to speed).

This role is initially a 12 month fixed term contract (starting July 2021) but the team is growing and it is possible that there will be the opportunity to remain with the team on a permanent basis thereafter.

You can expect to work on a whole range of interesting legal issues in this fast paced, high growth tech scaleup. On a day to day basis the work can include drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, licences and partnership agreements; ensuring compliance with GDPR, advertising standards and financial conduct regulations; providing support to the European side of the business; advising on corporate law issues including M&A and funding IP portfolio management alongside external lawyers; supporting advertising and editorial teams on video, online and TV advertising.

You are likely to be a solicitor qualified in England and Wales with a strong background in private practice. You will ideally have in house experience (which could have been gained during a secondment). Whilst not a pre-requisite, German or Spanish speaking lawyers would be of particular interest as would those with good privacy experience.

This is a supportive and collegiate team and indeed business; the leaders and key decision makers across the business are dynamic, down to earth and driven. Friendly, responsive lawyers with a ‘can do’ attitude will do well here and whilst you will recognise the importance of responding and providing prompt support across the business, the culture is such that it is also a great work-life opportunity.
