WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Trainee Solicitor, you will join the Business Affairs department and will provide legal support across the group with particular emphasis on business areas such as production, distribution and licensing. With support, you will assume responsibilities such as:

  • Draft, issue and negotiate contracts and third party standard terms
  • Liaise with agents to ensure all terms are updated and in-line with company procedures
  • Support with marketing approval to ensure content is in line with regulatory frameworks
  • Support on various production matters such as clearance of underlying rights and fee negotiation for production teams
  • Draft post-production paperwork
  • Support relevant stakeholders in drafting agreements
  • Draft and negotiate agreements
  • Provide excellent legal and contractual advice to all departments

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following:

  • Have completed a law degree (or GDL) and LPC
  • A good understanding of copyright law
  • TV production and music licensing experience in a Paralegal or Contracts Administrator capacity
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work with initiative
  • Experience working within a media (or similar) industry
