The Role

The firm is looking for a 5+ PQE Solicitor to work as a Professional Support Lawyer for the Financial Services Regulation Group in the Manchester office.

The firm has a sizeable, dedicated FS Regulation group which is National and spans across the firm's offices.

The successful financial regulation PSL will work closely with other PSLs across the Banking and Lender Services Group and wider firm, sharing experiences and best practice and delivering projects across the whole group.

The Financial Services PSL will support the firm's national financial regulation practice and offer strategic assistance in all areas of knowledge for the team, which will include:

  • Managing/improving the teams precedents
  • Updating and writing team guidance
  • Collating current awareness and sector hot topics, with recourse to market source providers, and also leading on sector critical matters with the support of partners and assistants
  • Organising ongoing team training, including vetting of training materials, writing/updating training materials, presenting sector critical training (both face to face and online)
  • Managing the team knowledge bank with the support of the wider team
  • Supporting key clients with training and knowledge services
  • Working with the client services and business development teams on key strategic business development initiatives
  • Liaising with industry bodies (e.g. UK Finance, the Building Societies Association and Finance and Leasing Association); and
  • Supporting the financial regulatory department on ad hoc queries including work process improvement initiatives such as 'the use of technology'.

This role will form a crucial part of their team supporting clients principally across the Financial Services sector (as well as other sectors but, majority of the clients will be in FS)

Requirements:

  • You will be a Financial Services Regulation Solicitor/Lawyer with 5+ years PQE
  • Qualified in England & Wales as a Solicitor
  • You will receive a market-leading salary, which is dependent on experience
