Our client is a large international law firm with an international arbitration practice which has extensive experience across a broad range of industries including energy, financial services and TMT. The firm’s significant global footprint enables their clients to benefit from co-ordinated advice for complex multi-jurisdictional and multi-lingual cases. The team has notable expertise in sub-Sahara Africa and Russian arbitrations.
A number of the partners in the team are individually rated for their technical and commercial acumen which puts them on a par with the magic circle and other top international firms operating in London and internationally. They have the ability to take on highly complex matters at very short notice and deliver exceptional opinions, formulate case strategy, deliver submissions and formulate case management.
As a result of a significant caseload and pipeline in London the need has arisen to bolster the team through the hiring of a senior associate with high level commercial arbitration experience gained from a rated law firm.
Candidates will have thorough knowledge of the rules of LCIA and ICC and a track record of having taken a lead role in managing cases to a high standard in some cases with little supervision. You will also have good client skills and the ability to manage clients to ensure their loyalty and ultimately profitability for the firm.
The caseload will be varied in terms of sector and geographical focus and those with particular expertise in areas such as sub-Sahara Africa and Russia with energy and a projects slant would be welcome.
You will need to have at least 5 years pqe and be ambitious to want to progress your career in a focussed and determined manner as the prospects to progress are high. Whilst the hiring partners have high expectations for technical ability, they also like candidates who have commercial acumen.
