The Role

This Tech Start Up are seeking a Patent Attorney to join their team in London

This is their first Inhouse Legal hire, which will focus on drafting patents, meanwhile looking at IP Strategy and the scalability of their technology IP department. Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Drafting provisional patents, PCT applications and US patents.
  • Creating IP infrastructure and build processes
  • Advising on IP strategy

The role is fast faced, working in synergy with the tech team, whilst you will be responsible for working autonomously in Patent work, you must also be a team player invested in the overall success of the business.

This role is well suited to an ambitious Patent Attorney with solid experience working with highly complex software patents.

There is already further growth planned, so you will be responsible for building the inhouse Legal team over time; inline with the wider business. With this comes excellent further progression prospects.

Requirements:

  • You will be a qualified UK/ EU Qualified Patent Attorney with 2 PQE +
  • Experience working in US jurisdiction (no need to be US Patent Agent or US Qualified)
  • Proven experience with complex and complicated software patents.
  • A PhD degree in Mathematics or Physics, Mech Engineering etc
  • Previous experience in/ or a keen interest in Tech/ Software/ AI
