A fantastic role for a junior to mid level music lawyer, someone who has some experience in the music business with the ambition to bolster their knowledge base and reputation, and has the drive to build their own practice in time.  Ideally you will be working in the music team of a ranked practice or working in house at a label who has gained some excellent experience to date but is looking to take their career to the next level.

You will need to be an ambitious individual with an excellent academic background and strong drafting and commercial skills.  In particular you will need to have the ability to handle the drafting and negotiating of commercial contracts in the music business and you should also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of how the business is structured and the key legal documents.   The firm value in particular candidates with a good entrepreneurial flair, and it will be essential as part of your career development to demonstrate an ability to forge close client relationships, raise your profile and think creatively about how to market yourselves and the firm.  It is critical that you have a desire to build your own practice in the music industry.  

Supporting the work of the partners, but also given plenty of autonomy, you will be drafting and negotiating a range of agreements from management agreements, publishing deals, record deals, artist agreements through to live performance, merchandising and sponsorship agreements.
