Legal Counsel - Property Litigation

UK Wide / Agile Working / Work from Home

Exciting opportunity for a  mid-level property litigator to join a market leading UK-wide property business. Non-contentious property lawyers or commercial litigators who can demonstrate an interest / aptitude for this type of work may be considered.

It is rare that the opportunity for a litigator to join a team like this becomes available; agile working from home (offices in the Midlands or South East for those who would prefer to spend some time in the office but this is only to accommodate individual preference, not a pre-requisite) within a supportive and collegiate team working at the heart of the business.

The successful candidate is likely to have 3+PQE gained either in house or in a law firm dealing with litigation or property management related issues. Individuals with some or all of the following are likely to be of interest:

  • Property related litigation/disputes (including forfeiture, breach of covenant and residential service charge recovery)
  • Working knowledge of Landlord & Tenant legislation and regulations affecting service charge
  • Working knowledge of civil litigation and enforcement including latest developments e.g. Jackson Reforms
  • Experience of portfolio property management, leases, deeds etc
  • Right to Manage and FTT claims
  • Construction litigation

As well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, it is necessary to be able to deliver focused and clear advice. Those with an outgoing and robust personality will thrive as will those who are able to prioritise their work effectively. A commercial approach and ability to build relationships across all levels of the business is essential.

This role would suit someone looking for a challenge away from the standard, hierarchical career route in private practice. Someone able to demonstrate they are able to take ownership of client and stakeholder relationships, resolve issues and manage expectations.

The team and business as a whole is supportive, collegiate, open and honest. A great culture and a really good opportunity to accelerate your legal career down a less traditional path; you will continue to get great ‘legal’ experience but the commercial and business skills you will gain are second to none. Very competitive salary package and an attractive role ticking so many boxes.
