Our client is a global specialist technology company owning some of the world’s most widely used  technology.   The company is positioned for exceptional growth due to an enviable market share.

They are now seeking a new Legal Counsel to expand their growing in-house legal function to be based at their Cardiff HQ in order to support their world-wide business.

The role

This is an excellent role working with an amazing General Counsel who is committed to the personal and professional development of their team members.

You will support the wider business and initially deliver advice on sales contracts, NDAs and research and developments agreements.   You will be working on customer contracts to drive strategic change and will be exposed to matters from the UK, USA and Asia.

Other areas you will cover include:

  • Negotiation, drafting and advising on a variety of commercial agreements (including IP matters)
  • Assist on the rolling out of governance and compliance frameworks
  • Supporting the General Counsel to grow the legal team
  • Managing and working with external law firms and advisors
  • Provide wider legal training to the business

About you

Ideally you will have 18 months – 5 PQE and have trained with a good law firm.  An interest in IP, engineering and technology would be welcome.  You will have strong commercial acumen and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.  You will be ambitious and committed to growing your career in-house.

The package

On offer is an excellent package including a solid base salary, share options and bonus.  The company will offer remote working for 1-2 days a week post-covid and they will consider individuals who wish to work 4 or 5 days a week.

This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious Commercial solicitor from a law firm or in-house legal background.
