The Role

2-5 PQE Commercial Solicitor to join Tier 1 Commercial and Infrastructure team in supporting Local Government.

Regarded as the leading Local Governance team outside of London, you'll utilise your talent and existing knowledge in Commercial matters in support of a plethora of clients on a wide variety of commercial and complex contracting issues, involving some of the largest and groundbreaking projects in the country.

You will be a pivotal player in the procurement of major infrastructure projects and service provisions across England & Wales.

As a team, they are considered the go-to in providing strategic support on all forms of social, economic, energy and digital infrastructure, led by a Partner who's abilities and prestige are considered unrivalled within the sector.

Working alongside a Partner that leads this aspect of the business, you will have an unmatched exposure to a diverse range of matters concerning Local Governance. Your practice will reside at the pinnacle of guidance given to local authorities.

You will support clients in evaluating options to develop and grow public services, such as bringing back in-house, delivering new infrastructure and managing large complex outsourced contracts. This will involve building highways, homes, leisure facilities, energy provision and regenerating the local environment.

Historically the team has seen lawyers fast-track to Partnership and leadership positions, owing to the mentoring received, the remit to specialise and the firm's fundamental approach to providing ongoing progression.

The Requirements

  • 2+ PQE within Commercial, with an appetite to specialise and thrive in Local Governance
  • Passionate in providing exceptional advice and working proactively in a team to give outstanding results
  • Willingness to develop legal expertise, coupled with a hunger to progress and specialise within the team
  • Creativity in solving problems, along with the communication skills and foresight required to form and nurture relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
