This is a full time, permanent role based in the Town Hall with the ability to work remotely for most of the week.

Our skilled and Lexcel accredited Legal Team has a crucial role providing the full range and variety of expert services across all areas of the Council’s work.

Key Responsibilities   

You will be one of a team of lawyers dealing with a challenging and varied Planning and Regeneration caseload that includes planning enforcement and judicial reviews. In addition to the above areas, you will be able to demonstrate experience of dealing with planning enquiries, providing advice at planning committees and negotiation/completion of S.106 and highways agreements. You will have excellent drafting skills and the ability to provide legal advice to a variety of audiences, including senior officers. You will be able to conduct your caseload with minimum supervision and will be accustomed to working at pace in a busy team.  

Requirements   

You must be a Qualified Solicitor/Barrister or Fellow of CILEX and hold a practising certificate.
