Corporate Counsel, Investment Trusts - Franklin Templeton Investments, Edinburgh
Franklin Templeton Investments are a world leader in asset management, serving clients globally from offices in 33 countries, specialising across equities, fixed income, multi-asset strategies and alternatives.
In July 2020, Franklin Templeton acquired Legg Mason and its multiple specialist investment managers, establishing Franklin Templeton as one of the world's largest independent, specialised global investment managers with a combined $1.4 trillion in assets under management (AUM) across one of the broadest ranges of high-quality investment teams in the industry. The combined footprint significantly deepens Franklin Templeton’s presence in key geographies and creates an expansive investment platform that is well balanced between institutional and retail client AUM.
They are currently looking to identify a commercially focused Investment Trusts Lawyer to be based in the Edinburgh Office, to service the legal and company secretarial needs of both three investment trust clients and the boards of a number of internal group companies. The role will cover the review and negotiation of legal agreements, handling corporate transactions as well as UK Listing Authority Rules, Market Abuse Legislation and other relevant laws. It will also involve a range of governance responsibilities such as the preparation and organisation of board meetings and AGM’s for each of these internal and external clients.
Candidates sought will have qualified into a Corporate or Fund Management team with experience of the UK listed environment, ideally Investment Trusts.
They should also have commercial acumen with strong prioritisation and inter personal skills, able to manage a number of stakeholders at any one time with good attention to detail.
Compensation, comprising base salary and discretionary bonus will be highly competitive for this role.
This role is being handled exclusively by Anthony Downie at Stanford Resourcing and all third party or direct applications will be forwarded to him for consideration.
