Head of Legal

Exciting opportunity for a Head of Legal to join a leading national business which is going through a period of expansion and change.  Ability to work from home with requirement to be in the office in the Northern Home Counties 2 days per week post-Covid.

Arbuthnot Yon are working exclusively with a national well-known business which operates from over 50 sites in the UK.   The business is going through an exciting period of change, modernisation and expansion encompassing strategic investment projects that require leadership support from the newly appointed Head of Legal. 

Forming part of the Senior Leadership team and reporting into the CFO, you will work closely with the CEO and Board, and lead a talented and well-established legal team.  With overall responsibility for the legal function, you will lead on strategic projects, advise on legal risk and act as Company Secretary to the Board.

This business is multifaceted in nature and you will support the business with legal projects across commercial agreements, franchising, technology, property and construction and compliance and corporate governance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising on strategic projects across commercial agreements, property and development, technology and data.
• Leading a talented and well-established legal team with oversight that legal risk is being effectively managed.
• Acting as Company Secretary to the Board, working closely with shareholders and advising on corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

We are keen to hear from Senior Lawyers who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and love what they do!  Due to the varied nature of this business, you will thrive on working across different legal areas and you will be able to operate at both a strategic and operational level. 

You will be at least 10 years PQE currently working in-house in a leadership role with experience gained in commercial legal work plus and experience gained in property, technology and company secretarial.

The business is currently working from home (of course!), post Covid the business will work flexibly, and you will have a requirement to be in the office approx. 2 days per week.
