Solicitor - Commercial Contracts - GDPR and Date Protection

Data Protection – 4+ PQE – Central London

Our Client, an exciting, diverse and growing law firm with a fantastic client base, is looking for a mid to senior level solicitor to join their London office.

The firm offer a full service of legal assistance to a range of clients across the UK and abroad and are currently involved in some of the most high-profile matters in the country, with corporate transactions valued in the billions.  Their teams provide a service that is second to none with relationships created over many years.

The team

The department is currently made up of several partners and associates at various levels.  Examples of work undertaken will include assisting clients to ensure continued compliance with the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including terms and conditions and policy updates, advising on and assisting with data subject requests, breach handling and responding to ICO investigations, together with a variety of other information law matters, including freedom of information, the environmental information regulations and information related aspects of cyber security and marketing law.

The Teams client base includes large domestic and international businesses, family offices and high net worth individuals, with many having complex data protection requirements.

The Candidate

As the ideal candidate for this opportunity you should be at least 4 PQE with a sound understanding of data protection, GDPR, the related regulatory environment, and commercial and contract law principles.

You should be a confident individual and due to the constantly changing regulatory landscape, have the ability to take on new technically complex areas of work, both independently and supervised (as necessary) and develop a loyal following both internally and externally.

You should be self-motivated with a willingness to be involved in business development across various specialist teams to include participation in events, writing articles and bulletins and proactively identifying new innovative opportunities. Joining this very well regarded team will see you work with some of the UK’s most interesting clients.
