Agricultural Solicitor

This firm is one of the largest legal practices in the South West and boasts a leading Agricultural offering.   

The flow of instructions demands the appointment of a recently qualified to mid level solicitor to join the thriving team.  The successful candidate will have a keen interest in agricultural and rural affairs and be adept at dealing with the farming community and the issues that affect them.

Ideally you will have a solid grounding in rural property work, including sales, purchases, refinancing, dealing with transfers for development, succession transfers and agricultural tenancies.  You will be working alongside recognised experts in this field and as such will benefit from excellent ongoing training and support.  Experience in Private Client work would also be advantageous.

You will undertake a varied and interesting caseload advising on a wide-range of legal issues, including:

•       acquisitions and disposals of agricultural land

•       tenancy issues

•       succession planning

•       partnerships and other structures

•       planning and development

•       single payment scheme entitlements and stewardship schemes

•       grazing licences

•       easements and wayleaves

The role is very much client facing and you will be encouraged to take a very active role in targeted business development activities to obtain new clients for the Agriculture Team. Cross selling is key and you will develop a clear understanding of the other business areas for effective internal referrals.
