My client is a leading technology based business based in the North East of England. Their highly respected and established in-house legal team now seek to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel. Reporting into the Deputy General Counsel the role will be responsible for providing a wide range of advanced in-house legal support.

This is a 'generalist' role and will cover a wide range of legal matters including commercial contract, IP, property matters and regulatory law. Transactions may range from thousands up to several million pounds. The role will also provide day to day supervision for junior members of the team.

You will be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' PQE and have experience of working in a commercial law firm or within industry as an in-house lawyer. Having recently recruited lawyers from IP, litigation, employment and corporate backgrounds, our client is keen to speak to any candidates who can add a complementary legal specialism to the team and who are keen to take on an interesting and varied role. In particular, we are keen to hear from candidates with a background in regulatory, construction or State aid law, however other areas will also be considered.

In addition to possessing a strong technical background you must exhibit strong personal credibility have excellent client care skills as well as being a talented communicator. Strong self-motivation and the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks under pressure is vital.

There is also the opportunity to work flexibly from home but there will be a need to visit several of the organisations sites all in the North East.
