Senior Legal Counsel, global business 3 - 6 PQE

Opportunity for commercial lawyer (3 - 6 PQE) to join listed global business as a Senior Legal Counsel based in the West Midlands.

Arbuthnot Yon have been instructed exclusively on opportunity with a listed multi-national employing over 100,000 people globally and with a turnover in the billions.    Forming part of an established in-house team, you will advise on a range of commercial legal matters with an emphasis on contractual agreements and related projects and advice. 

The legal team is very integrated into the business and your role will touch upon and involve you working closely with business colleagues in all areas of the business including sales, finance, procurement, marketing and operations in the UK and internationally. 

Your role will have an emphasis on European wide procurement, but you will also advise on wider areas such as sales contracts, outsourcing and broader legal issues including data protection and disputes.    

Specific responsibilities include:

• Working closely with the European procurement team in relation to complex often international facing procurement projects.  Procurement activities in the Group range from marketing to telecoms to facilities management to significant outsourcing projects (i.e. out-sourcing HR shared services) to machinery purchasing. 
• Advising on UK and European customer related supply contracts and out-sourcing projects.
• Advising on wider legal issues such as data protection and disputes and ad-hoc legal queries.

We are keen to hear from commercial lawyers with 3- 6 years’ PQE gained in-house or in private practice who are looking to develop and step up.  Alternatively, this position would be suited to (and we are also very keen to hear from) more experienced lawyers looking for a new challenge. 

Due to the size and nature of the business there are good progression opportunities for lawyers both in terms of promotion and exposure and responsibilities.
