In-house Construction Lawyer

A leading construction consultancy business is seeking a 0-3 PQE Construction Lawyer to join the team at their head office in Leicestershire.

This in-house construction role will see the successful applicant work alongside the existing team on a range of construction matters being carried out by the company's new joint venture, working alongside other leading businesses in the construction sector across the built environment and infrastructure.

The Role

Under the guidance of the Senior Lawyer, the Construction Lawyer will be responsible for:
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of construction contracts such as preferred partner and supply chain agreements, sub-consultancy agreements, collateral warranties, and novation agreements;
- Assisting the framework director and supply chain manager in the management of the frameworks - checking that call-off contracts, subcontracts etc have been prepared in the template form, updating online portal/tracker, advising the directors on risks and approving for sign-off by the directors and checking that contracts/subcontracts have been returned;
- Providing legal advice to JV Partners on terms of call-off contracts, subcontracts, collateral warranties and associated documents;
- Assisting the team on various matters which are assigned to the solicitor, such as recovery of debt and delivery of training programmes to staff;
- Researching points of law, interpretation of construction contracts and statutes; and
- Attending meetings with clients.
