Job Details
IP has always been an important part of this US firm’s DNA. In the States, the trade mark, brands and copyright practice is WTR1000 and legal directory rated and, although reasonably small in scale, is elite, representing some of the world’s best-known brands.
Having recently hired a leading IP team in the US, whose clients have already augmented a flow of European trade mark matters, the firm is keen to mirror this in Europe with a leading trade mark and brand protection partner/team based in London – notwithstanding the Covid-19 disruption!
The London office is set up for a trade mark and enforcement practice – there is already a small team of IP lawyers who, although they deal predominantly with commercial and advisory IP matters, already undertake some trade mark work. Notably the firm offers flexible charge-out rates, trade mark support from the US, European offices and, most importantly, an understanding of how a trade mark practice in Europe works – in particular, the need for paralegal and specialist support.
Intimate and profitable, with a slightly quirky culture, in the over 20 years this firm has been in London, it has had an outstanding record of integrating teams. Moreover, because it pays close to the full US rates for associates, you will likely find moving a team, or attracting good quality lawyers, will be easier than elsewhere.
