Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a junior Legal Counsel to join our operations department.

We are agents of commercial growth and have worked with over 250 companies, large and small including many well-known names/brands, to help them understand and improve their IT capability including programme management, architecture design, agile enablement, software engineering and AI. The Role

We are looking for a junior IT & commercial lawyer to work across the Intechnica Group which includes Intechnica, the UK leading tech diligence and services business and Netacea, the international Forrester leading Bot Management cyber security company.

Given how rapidly the business is expanding, we are looking for a lawyer who will be comfortable in taking on a good level of responsibility and be confident in liaising with various stakeholders on a regular basis. As this is a new position, the successful lawyer will be encouraged to make the role their own as the business expands internationally

UK qualified lawyer who has ideally, worked at a large law firm and/or as an in-house lawyer in an IT business. Given the level of responsibility and expectations that will come with this position, the successful candidate will ideally have 2-4 years PQE

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with our commercial, sales, partnerships and customer success teams to review and be the lead drafter on contracts (including SaaS, licensing, consulting, framework, development, supply, partner, reseller/distributor agreements and NDA’s as well as data protection agreements);
  • Have the ability to identify, explain and advise on non-standard terms and associated risks to relevant business stakeholders, interpret contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure.
  • Provide effective, business-focused, day-to-day advice on a broad range of issues, including local law compliance, employment matters, disputes, IP, privacy, and data protection and respond to various inquiries; and
  • Collaborate with internal business stakeholders to draft, review, and revise commercial contracting templates.

Who you are

The ideal candidate for this role is:

  • Experienced in commercial transactions. 
  • An excellent communicator with a commercial/ business outlook;
  • Tech savvy, adaptable, comfortable with a fast moving start up environment, and excited by dynamic change;
  • A proactive self-starter who has a thirst for knowledge and a desire for continued growth while working as part of a great team; and
  • Have an understanding of international data privacy and data protection laws, especially in EMEA

Location

The role will be conducted largely remotely for the foreseeable future in light of COVID 19, but as and when circumstances permit, the successful candidate will attend meetings as required in our Manchester office, albeit it is likely that there will be a significant amount of homeworking available once offices reopen.
